Our Story
Interlude Music represents the combined artistic efforts of Ella and Devereux Geiger. They are theater artists, musicians and educators with vibrant careers both individually and together.
Ella and Devereux met at college where they both studied music and participated in theater. Over time it became clear that they loved collaborating and that their skill sets complemented one another. After years of making music and theater together, they decided to become life partners as well! In March of 2020 Ella and Devereux got married and moved to Maynard, Massachusetts.
In the midst of the pandemic on October 1st, 2020, Interlude Music was born with the mission to connect people to their music through quality education and professional services. For five years, this mission led Ella and Devereux to grow wonderful connections around greater Boston and in their town of Maynard. They got involved with many Boston-area theaters in a myriad of different roles and directed theater at schools and camps. They wrote music for a new animated musical and produced their own original theatrical work, including radio play adaptations of classic works. In their town, they helped launch the popular Maynard Jazzfest; and they still organize the music for the Maynard Farmers’ Market and Holiday Lighting Ceremony.
After five years in business it was clear that much of their best and most fulfilling work had been done in the theater. And so, since 2025, Ella and Devereux have been in the process of re-orienting Interlude to better reflect their theater-centered work. 2026 is seeing several new areas of growth: They’re touring their live-accompanied silent film experience Nosferatu, writing and developing several new works (with an eye on upcoming fringe festivals), performing musical improv on a regular basis and continuing to make new connections with theaters and theater-makers for fruitful collaboration in the future.
And, true to their original mission, they provide professional musical services for their clients and high-quality music lessons, workshops, masterclasses and more for students and professionals in need of training. Lessons are located in Maynard, MA or online from your home.
