Our Story
Ella and Devereux met in 2014 at Gordon College where they both studied music. Over time it became clear that they loved working together and that their skill sets complemented one another. After years of making music together, they decided to become life partners as well! In March of 2020 Ella and Devereux got married and moved to Maynard, Massachusetts where they dreamed of starting a music business together one day….
…That day came sooner than they could have imagined! COVID-19 quickly shut the world down, and musician’s lives changed overnight. Although Ella and Devereux found themselves stuck inside, they were determined to keep music alive every day - for themselves and for the people they knew. October 1st, 2020 Interlude Music was born! Interlude Music is a business that connects people with their music, and we accomplish this through quality education and professional services. Interlude Music Studios provides high quality music lessons, workshops, masterclasses and more for students and professionals in need of training. Our lessons are located in Concord, MA and online from your home! Interlude Music Solutions is your one-stop shop for every musical service, including complete project management.

Ella McGaunn Geiger
Voice, Acting, Audition Prep
Ella is passionate about helping clients find their voice. Her approach to teaching combines voice science, acting/storytelling methods, problem solving skills and confidence-building for greater independence as a singer. She has worked extensively in adaptive educational settings, and continues to work with clients of all ages, abilities, learning styles and needs.
In 2020, Ella co-founded Interlude Music, a business that helps clients create their own music through education and other professional services. Through Interlude, she has mentored adults with disabilities as well as high school students interested in entering the music industry. Additionally, Ella is a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the state of Massachusetts, a founding member of the Massachusetts Pan American Vocology Association (PAVA) chapter, and the Director of Membership Communications for National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Boston.
Ella is a passionate educator who is continually researching, investigating and using her improvisational skills to help her students meet their goals. Additionally, she believes that functional training is necessary for students to flourish. With a primary focus on vocal health, Ella's teaching is flexible for any type of singing. Her background in acting and love of analyzing poetry informs her ability to help students sing, present and act honestly and from the heart.
She holds a degree in Music and Linguistics with a minor in Speech Language Pathology from Gordon College where she was the first to graduate with Departmental Honors in Music. She was awarded this honor for her research into comparative contemporary and classical singing pedagogy culminating in a lecture recital and thesis. She is currently pursuing continuing education in contemporary singing and voice science.
Devereux Geiger
Interlude Music was founded by Devereux and Ella Geiger in 2020 to combine their love of connecting people with their music. They now have access not only to his own skills, but to his entire professional network - without adding one number to their contacts.
Devereux is an all-around music professional with experience in musical services across the industry. His passion for helping others grow resulted in a Bachelors of Music Education from Gordon College, and years of fruitful collaborative work since.
His work as a pianist, music director and educator has benefitted organizations such as ImprovBoston, Boston Ballet School, and Groton School and Community Congregational Church in Billerica. Additionally, Devereux has professional experience in performing/recording, composition/songwriting, arranging/orchestration, transcribing/engraving, and music production.
Devereux grew up in New Hampshire, a triplet and one of five children. He attributes much of his strength in collaboration and empathy to the connection he has to his family. He and his wife Ella McGaunn Geiger reside in Maynard, MA where they co-run Interlude Music together.
