Interlude empowers students with a holistic, connected understanding of music that will serve them in every part of life.

Interlude ascribes to a person-first philosophy of teaching.  We treat each student as an individual first, putting their needs and goals at the forefront of their education.

Interlude strives to provide students with ample opportunities to connect their developing skills to relevant real-world applications.

Interlude believes that every person can learn to make music well, regardless of their age, abilities, current skill-level, or circumstances.

FAQs

What ages do you teach? Do you work with professionals?

We work with all ages and stages. Both Devereux and Ella have taught people from toddler music classes to senior citizens. Typically, we recommend general musicianship classes for students younger than 5. We also work with professionals who make their whole living with music. See our teacher bios to learn more!

What lessons do you offer?

We offer a wide range of lessons between our three teachers. At Interlude, you can take quality lessons in:

  • Piano/Keyboard

  • Voice

  • Percussion/Drum Set

  • Acting

  • Audition Prep

  • Songwriting

  • Music Theory/Composition

  • Genre Studies

What styles/genres do you teach?

At Interlude, our goal is to help you make the music that you want to make. Ella, Devereux and Adam have training and experience across a wide variety of styles, and are excited to teach anything within their breadth of expertise. Young students are strongly encouraged to spend time training and exploring in several genres before committing to one long-term.

What are your prices?

Check out our policies page for an in-depth look at our prices. We try to keep our lessons affordable for families. We offer both drop-in lessons and memberships for students who take lessons every week. There is a family discount and multi-instrument discount available for member students.

Do you teach students with disabilities?

Yes! Both Ella and Devereux have in-depth experience working with students with disabilities. We are an open and inclusive studio and strive to make music accessible for all. If for some reason we cannot meet your needs, we will help you find someone who can.

What are adaptive lessons? 

Everyone has different needs in order to shine. We offer adaptive lessons for students who need supports in order to be successful. We take seriously each client’s personal need and goals.

Where do your lessons take place?

In-person lessons take place at 94B Main Street in Maynard, MA, located in the heart of Maynard’s lovely downtown.

Do you teach virtually?

Yes! At Interlude we take seriously our commitment to provide the very same quality of instruction for our virtual students as we provide for our in-person students. Some clients have even found that they prefer the virtual medium!
